And they did didn’t they – at my age I’ve lived nearly half a century longer than many of those brave kids ever did. It is a humbling thing in that I doubt if I would have had the courage to do what they did. Perhaps I might have – but the sobering thing is that through their sacrifice I never had to put it to the test.

Very much so – as with Eight Are Missing and the first suggestion tells us what he was feeling about himself at the time, perhaps – Four Years Lifetime – if I have interpreted it correctly.

In think it is understandable that, as a suggestion dated August 1944, The Boys Die Young would hardly have been the most appropriate at the time, would it? I quite like Reich Wreckers!!
