While picking nits, it is not a good start to a documentary about World War Two to get the date of the beginning of the war wrong by over two years.

It might be a good show and I will probably watch the rest of it. However, at about 55 seconds into the video they show the attack on Pearl Harbor and I immediately noticed that Battleship Row didn’t look right. It is missing the USS Oklahoma that should have been moored outboard of the USS Maryland. It’s also missing the oiler Neosho, and most of the other ships in the harbor are not shown, but they could at least have gotten Battleship Row right, don’t you think?

It is an interesting concept for a show, but as with many popular documentaries it most likely is riddled with errors easily spotted by experts such as in this forum. The attack on Pearl Harbor and the units, people, ships and aircraft involved on both sides has been a special interest of mine since I was a little boy. This show also got the number of aircraft attacking wrong (they say 360), and the way they announced it implied that all these planes attacked in one wave and all on Pearl Harbor. Not to pick nits, but if they are wrong about something I know about, I am less likely to trust their numbers and facts on other matters. It might be entertaining but I will have a salt shaker handy while watching it. I don’t know how many grains I will need.
