Hello all
Time for a general appeal.
In 1979 Steve Vizard, Andy Saunders and others dug the remains of Whirlwind P6966 in Stirlingshire. We have spoken to Steve V, who has some components, and Andy, who has none. For a while now we have been following various leads on the whereabouts of the remainder, and have so far tracked down some armour plate, oil coolers, hydraulics, cowling, engine and blades, generator and a fowler flap guide track.
There has been an occasional trade of parts on a well known auction site and elsewhere over the years. It now seems that parts of this aircraft are scattered far and wide.
We do not necessarily wish to acquire them. What we wouild like to do is accurately laser-scan as many surviving objects as possible to generate 3d models that will fit into our complete CAD model of the Whirlwind, ensuring as much accuracy as possible. We can even come to you to do it.
So, if you have any parts, no matter how small, please do get in touch! Bearmat81@hotmail.com, or via PM, or the project site.
Thanks,
Matt

Or if you would like to donate that piece of Whirlwind you have to either go on show besides or be rebuilt into the worlds ONLY
Westland Whirlwind Fighter then either contact Matt or myself or visit our web site to see what we are doing.
