Meteor flying yesterday

A Meteor flew south from Raunds area over SantaPod heading south yesterday . I heard it but not seen . Was it one of Classic flights being delivered to Newquay either T.7 or NF.11 ? Or maybe the Martin Baker T.7 out from Chalgrove ? Welcome any further reports .

I have heard that some of the fleet are going to be positioned nearer the centre of the UK for the airshow season to cut down on the transit legs. Would Coventry be a good guess?

Spot on, Coventry will be a central stop over. so cheaper transits too shows.

Great to see the Meteor flying again ,i was told it uses around 600 gallons of fuel per hour ,so for example to have it in a display in Duxford would cost around 12k ,just for the fuel alone ,i dont think we are going to see it very much or am i wrong ?

I saw it just South of Hinckley, Leicestershire, heading in Coventry direction at about 12:00 noon.

Was a pleasure to see and hear!

I’ve also seen between 1 and 2 Chinook’s over the house in the last few days.. Nice to have a few days off work, spent in the garden!

Cheers, Scott
