Good for the museum; lets keep speculation about the future of the Spitfire Society to a minimum on this thread.

I thought you might enjoy that feature! 😎 A couple of the photos I used were scans from glass plate negatives found in the back of a filing cabinet at the museum – it’s amazing what turns up.

Thats great news for the museum, and for the replica.

By the way, great choice for ‘aircraft of the month’ for April :applause:

I am pleased it has gone there, and to a good home, but as Mike J says….another part of the Spitfire Society melt-down one presumes?

What are they up to? And presumably the phoenix Spitfire Heritage Trust, who seem to be ‘replacing’ the Spitfire Society, have turned to building plastic Spitfires again now that the squadron of Burmese Spitfires seem to have evaporated somewhere in the jungle monsoons.

Why do I suspect that a flurry of missives will be winging their way to the Charity Commissioners any time soon??!

Part of the ongoing meltdown of the Spitfire Society, I suppose. Sad, but at least the replica has gone to a good home. 🙁
