The BBC documentary was shown tonight on their regional news programme, Inside Out West. It should be available on IPlayer from tomorrow at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03dz52y

Did anyone think to put a cam in the cockpit?

Yes. And another on the nose landing gear. The lift is going to be the subject of a BBC documentary later this year.

I think the stumbling block with that one is the asking price.

Is say find a seventh one 😀

Is the dismantled T7 still sitting in the open over on the North side at Duxford? If so, it would be great if that could be rescued and given a good home while it is still worth saving.

Do you have access to replacement canopies for the F.8 and Javelin?

We think we may have an F.8 one lined up but if you can help with a Javelin it would be good….

Looking at the Demobbed site, if this is what is called stored god help the new arrival!

That’s why the building is so crucial! The F.8 is looking so much healthier after last summer’s TLC…

There are now 6 Meteors at Staverton in total and another expected later in the year.

You should line them up and organise a photshoot!

Bought for £3,000 I wish I had room for it. Still another one saved and in a good place. Does anyone know if it still has its engines?

No engines, no instruments but 9 years’ worth of rainwater in the ventral tank!

I hope they can do something with the T.7 already at Staverton.

There are two. The museum’s WF784, purchased with a grant from Tewkesbury Borough Council was gate guardian at RAF Quedgeley. The Airport’s own T.7, WL349, was gifted by the RAF. It was partially stripped of paint about 8 years ago in preparation for an abortive plan to put it on display at Meteor Business Park (where the Messier Dowty factories are).

There are no immediate plans for either airframe, which are stored near the new museum site, but one might be a suitable ‘fuselage donor’ for the museum’s F3 cockpit section.

There are now 6 Meteors at Staverton in total and another expected later in the year. I wonder if anywhere else has any more?

Was it really just a mile and a half move?

Yes! It was in the air for less than five minutes.

Great day …I watched from main Chelt– Glos Road ( 94 bus route ) I was in exactly the right place ..apart from fence . I have pics , but cant find my transfer cable at the moment . I was amazed at the crowd turnout. Great Advert for Airport & Jet Age Museum .
