Lack of common sense.
The conversation should have gone;
“Why would you like to attend?”
“Because I’m a British war vet and he’s my brother”
The only other thing to hear should have been the approval stamp and an upgrade to 1st class.
In fact it could have been a pr coo if someone had had their brains attached.
“Airline flies BoB vet first class for free”.
