Hawkinge WW artefacts

Does anyone have contacts / work for the Hawkinge BoB museum?

One of our number has spotted some Whirlwind artefacts on display there, and we would love to measure / record / photograph them. Unfortunately these activities are not allowed to visitors normally.

We were hoping to ask for special permission for a visit to do this, to gather valuable data for our build. Can any forumites help?

Thanks,

Matt

It does and for good reason, I am sure. That apart I have never found the staff anything other than helpful, friendly and welcoming, as well as apologetic for the policy, which they implement courteously. I always enjoy my visits there. Good luck with your quest!

Hi,

I would suggest phoning and asking to speak / leave a message for David Brocklehurst.

He has assisted me in the past.

The museum does rigourously employ a ‘no camera’ policy but I guess that’s in response to past experiences.

Either way, I would make contact and take it from there.

This is the museum where you get thrown out for having a notepad on you. I assume the penalty for a camera-phone is death by firing squad. Good luck with your quest!
