Morning!
I am visiting the Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB (Georgia, USA) in three weeks time and I’ve just heard that they are in the process of disposing of 29 airframes from external display due to funding issues.
An F-94A, YMC-130H, F-104A and WB-57F already seem to have gone.
Does anyone know which other airframes are going, how fast they’re going, and where they are going to?
Hopefully these rare airframes have a future at another museum?
As it all comes under USAF control, I did wonder if it is actually the main museum at Wright-Patterson which is removing the more interesting airframes from external display, but this is only a suggestion.
Cheers
Alan

I saw the Lightning at Pima last October. I’d also seen it many years ago at Robins but in those days it looked very sad and was basically dumped in a far corner out back.

Shame about the Credible Sport, that was a very interesting piece of history which I don’t imagine will ever be repeated. Like something from an imaginative movie.

The museum has looked at the condition of the airframes and come to the conclusion that a number of them will not survive in the long term.
A number of the larger aircraft will be scrapped -the Credible Sport has gone for ABDR and the B-52 is due to be chopped.
