Readers, I’d like to bring to your attention a series of videos hitherto unkown to me on YouTube by SuperiorHistory. I’m watching one on the Tempest at the moment:

It’s over an hour long, with lots of interviews from pilots and (extremely rare) a Tempest engineer. 15 minutes in, there’s some really interesting footage taken at the time on recognition, engineering issues, and combat. Over 2 months in 1943 one Typhoon squadron (the pilot later flew Tempests) lost six COs amoung 50 pilots!
Very impressed so far; the one on the Sea Fury also looks excellent. Good to see so many accounts being recorded before it’s too late.

Having watched this “miscellany of footage and interviews” I can only say that I have been impressed. All of the postings by superiorhistory are worthy of watching. We did not all catch them first time around on the History channel.

Better than nothing, I suppose, but really it’s just a miscellany of footage and interviews, disorganized and unfocused.
