Voison? Voisin?

Another difficulty in the SDASM collection. This time they dont seek for an identification, this time they are plainly wrong. They name the aircraft shown “Voison”, what first is an error in writing because there is only a firm named “Voisin”. Thy might have called it this way because Voisin realized a series of types with pusher propeller. But Voisin never chose a wing configuration like the shown on, with the lower wing being attached in the shoulder section. Aviafrance.com shows not all pictures of Voisin aircraft, but when you find the missing ones by googling, there is not much difference.

So, do you know this aircraft? The pictures show in the aircraft in single- and two-engine configuration. But in one thing SDASM may be right – the aircraft is probably of French origin.

Thank you for answers!

On balance the F82 was a better realisation of the concept 😮

The French think they invented flying, wine, and sex. A quick course in aircraft recognition might come in handy. They have some very strange aeroplanes. No matter how tempting they may be, please, please, don’t shoot them down. They’re on our side.

According to “French Aircraft of the First World War” (Davila/Soltan, p.570) the left one is a Voisin Type M of 1916,
the right one a Voisin Type O (two Ms joined at the wings).
