Mystery Parts ID.. Can anyone help??

Hi guys,
posting these up for a friend. Any ideas what this compass mounting bracket and aircraft ammunition can is> There doesn’t appear to be any part numbers visible but the Ammo can looks like british type and has silver or pale grey paint on it…

Thanks Tony. I was thinking that might be an outboard gun ammunition can on a hurricane??
My buddy is going to try and get any part numbers off of that gun ammunition can this weekend..

Elliot, that part number comes up as F20006 when I invert it in photoshop
**UPDATE**
Stamp on the ammo can is CCF which pretty much confirms what Rocketeer thought it as being from a Hurricane..

The ammo can looks similar to one of my Hurricane cans.
The Compass bowl is very poor design/construction…I’d wager for something with a low g capability….like an auster or something. Also very heath robinson – maybe made up of old spare a/c grade ally parts he had left over? Home build.
Sorry not replied sooner, busy, the bowl is like nothing I have seen in any of my cockpit photo archive

Hi Peter

I will do my best to help you to ID these bits. We need more clues… Part numbers and stamps etc. It may even mean eventually getting them blasted. Could you go over the visible stamps initially with some wet and dry to bring them out a bit better? If this doesn’t work you could soak them in altrans or deox-c for a bit.

If you can do this let me know and i’ll take a look.
