The airfield defences at Sandown, Isle of Wight were temporarily bolstered today by a passing Bloodhound missile.
Enroute from the local Blackgang Chine theme park to a new home at North Coates, Lincs.
Due to make the journey north tomorrow, going to cause a bit of rubber-necking on the motorways I reckon!!

a passing bloodhound
It is a MK 1 and will be renovated and put on display at North Coates, It arrived there on Saturday morning in a raging blizzard putting it back albeit only temporary in a white colour scheme. It will be repainted eventually.

I think the main theme..of said theme park, was to seperate tourists from their money.
Way back when it was just the natural beauty of the location…over the years due to changing tastes and coastal erosion. Various bits of old tat were acquired to draw the punters in!

The mobile launcher looks like something designed by Top Gear……..
At least the Russians had armoured plates that dropped down to protect the windscreen from the rocket blast

The mind boggles at what the theme of the theme park might be 🙂
Lots of themes, I remember running around a full size western set up with a cap gun. So many kids running around firing guns off could smell it across the park.
