A friend locally, Reg Fowler, is also a relative and talked to me only recently about the Japanese orders that Hugh was awarded.
I am also wondering; was he not related to Peter Vaughan-Fowler who flew Special Duties Lysanders with 161 Squadron??
I must give Reg a call later today.

This one was quite interesting. An RAF WW1 fighter pilot who became an instructor and ended up training the Japanese Air Force in the interwar period.
