Quadrant / Rudder Section ID???

Hi All,

I am trying to find out whether the part I found while hiking is a quadrant from an aircraft. It maybe non-aircraft related however its aluminum and is about 20-25 cm is diameter so it might be. I cant find the logo anywhere which is a large B with A,G inside.

Any ideas. If non-aircraft…please no ROFL’s please. 🙂

Thanks

Probably counts out the Do17 then…!!

I am trying to find the photo of my BAG casting mark. I am sure it is pretty much the same.

Hi there,

I’m in the South West Pacific area, not in Europe. I think the Do24 was operated by the dutch to the west in Indonesia but that is a bit away form here. My hypothesis is a B-17 built by Vega as the B and the A is very similar to Vega built B-17s. The G could stand for Vega thought not sure

Thanks for help…

I have seen a very similiar if not identical stamp on a casting related to Bramo Aktiengesellschaft.

Although the Bramo badge was a winged ‘B’ a pretty nigh on identical stamp is in some of their castings.

Could it be related to a Dornier crash site? Whereabouts (roughly!) did you find it?
