Thanks for that Adrian, I do have these on file. I have already painted the wings / stub planes and tail group silver with the large “reg” in blue on the top wing / stubs and the lower side of the lower wings / stubs. The cabin has been trimmed in blue leather so it will be SMT scheme, blue and silver.

Re Dragon G-ACET

These appear to be the only period photos of G-ACET around in this livery, which I’m sure you have already on file. Scheme appears to be exactly the same as on Fox Moth G-ACEJ with a ‘wedge shaped’ cheatline in the same shade of blue as the nose badge. Alas, I don’t know how this cheatline finishes aft of the wing. I believe G-ACET was later transferred to Highland Airways, so you could also copy G-ACIT in the Science Museum store at Wroughton, if you fancied that livery with green trim?

Yes that was the one. We stored all Mike Russells Dragon parts for a few years. I picked some parts from Southend Museum after it closed and the other parts from EMK at Watton on Stone. The propellor’s came from a auction at Duxford in the early 1980s

The late Mike Russell did a talk on Fresson in London years ago. I took a DH84 Dragon wing down for the talk. He had a photo of G-ACET flying. But I cannot remember what markings it had.

I have got that photo thank you, the dragon was painted white in it.

Thank you for that, I have seen these photos. I want to get the scheme the same as it was, have been painting silver all day….;)

Interesting! Is this for a model or for the restoration of the real thing?
