Hello all,
I tried searching for an old thread on Canberra photos, as I have started a plan to build a batch of the Airfix Canberras. But I couldn’t find it.
What I am looking for are some colour schemes from the early 70s when there were still silver and light aircraft grey aircraft flying around.
I am also going to do the short lived red/white and light a/c grey scheme and need some ideas so as to sort out serials and markings.
Alas spraying is on hold at the moment. roll on springtime weather.
Cheers

Hey guys I have this four blade variable pitch prop that I was told it was from an old war plane that was supposed to fly close to the water and they only made six and they were destroyed. I don’t know if this is true or not but I will post pictures if anybody would be of interest to see if you or anybody you knew would know anything about it, I have two that are brand new in crates. Thank you
Could a mod move this to ‘Historic’ please?
Edit: Mods: Please make this a thread in its own right_ could get missed here by somebody who might find it really useful!

RN / FRADU Canberras
As I said earlier, these were taken at Gibraltar in June 1983. I’ve enhanced them as best I can.

Please bear in mind, that this was my 1st experience of using a 35mm SLR, and I wasn’t too sure about any possible security issues, if I was spotted.
Hope they’re of some use.

Just had a look on fighter control and the pics I was thinking about are no longer viewable (photobucket !).
But Robin A Walker on Air Britain has some wonderful Canberra pics…the link below is 231 OCU oriented but he also has some other lovely pics taken at the Canberra 25th anniv meet at cottesmore in 1974 where there was a large line up of canberras on both sides of the ‘Lazy’ rwy…I towed some of them out to there ;),a great day it was too 🙂

Grey Canberras
I’m sure I have pics of Royal Navy / FRADU Canberras T.22’s, fitted with Buccaneer radomes, at Gibraltar.
These were painted Light Grey overall with red bands around the wings and fuselage.
Would they be of any help to you?

Join the Canberra forum.
http://canberratalk.conforums.com/index.cgi?action=logout
You will find plenty of inspiration there including heaps of photos, discussion by people who worked on or flew Canberras and plenty of model pics too.
Look under ‘Genera Board’ and then ‘Crazy modellers Canberra corner’

Thanks Belforte but the thread I was thinking of was also about the 231 OCU Canberras at Cottesmore in the 70’s (therefore covering at least 3 colour schemes).
I am away from home – cannot remember my p/w 😮
I believe the thread was by ‘Tanker’
