American Air Day?
A lacklustre attempt at recreating the air shows of Lakenhall and Mildenheath in my opinion. If the USAF folk were allowed to bring their burger/hot dog/sloppy joe/pig roast stalls over, as opposed to the gazebos of squadrony gifts they are restricted to, then maybe it might be an event worthy of attending for the great British public.
So what if Slippery Fish/Elanor lose out for one day of the year – they have a ‘captive’ audience for the remaining 360 odd days.
What would you rather snack on – a decent US burger or a sweaty ham roll?
I realise that it will never happen due to the tax free status of US bases etc. but it would be nice to be able to stuff myself with stateside fare for one day of the year, while listening to SSGT Dough waxing lyrical (shouting) about the F15 display over a track of some heavy rock band…

And we know that the Spring Airshow will be heavily USAAF orientated.
