Hello All
I have recently been contacted by a chap in Oz who’s father was lost on HMS Courageous in Sep 1939. Prior to this his father joined the RAF at Worthy Down in the late 1920’s on No 7 Squadron flying Vickers Virginias. He was a rigger but had many flying hours as crew. I think I’m right that riggers sometimes doubled up as air gunners hence all the flying in his log book. He then moved to flying Walrus at Calshot and Lee On Solent. I have pages of his log book and would like to see if there are any photo’s out there of the following aircraft –
Walrus – L2206 – L2207 – L2246
Tutor – K6119
Hart – K1446
Magister – L8053
I am going to put a history of his career on my website and I would also like to send any info I can find to his son in Oz. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Richard
