Apologies chaps, have been very very tied up with a number of jobs, we will get back on it soon, but customer work takes the priority I’m afraid so it’s had to wait!
I will post an update soon for sure!

Oh yes, now that you mention it I can see that the fuselage looks lower than normal. Can’t wait to see this going!

The turtledeck has been cut down by a few inches to try to achieve a more accurate fuselage side profile. There is still plenty of head room.
90% finished, only 90% to go!
Anyhoo, the real reason for my original post is to see what progress is happening with Fournier Boy’s project in the UK. Often pictures of projects like this are very inspirational. I have a photo library of all the best Sindlinger Hurricane photos i have been able to glean from the net. I find these helpful for planning aspects of this build.

Great to hear things are progressing,
Well done.
I am off back to USA for a week so am unable to relocate my project back to home base for at least two more weeks. I have an airshow commitment soon after return so this puts a spanner in the works with the home project and delays things even more.
I am looking forward to getting it all back in my shed where i can get some time into it of an evening on a regular basis.
I have read that there is a builder in california that has one or two of these under construction at the moment.ndoes anyone have contact details, as i pass through LA and San Fran on a semi regular basis and will be there frequently for the next few months.
Cheers HD

Many apologies, did not get the time today for a photo opportunity, such was the mad rush of the general working day. I do promise to get some pictures out of the Hurricane soon and the next sunny day will be our best opportunity I’m sure.
Watch this space…

Hello Harley
Work is slow on the Hurricane unfortunately, too many other customer rebuilds getting in the way, but G-HCAT will soon have its own workshop room with space to dedicate somebody to it full time. It is now standing on its landing gear and I hope to progress things during March as I now have a proper machine shop to make some of the required parts. I might roll it outside this weekend (if we get the promised sun on sunday) in which case i’ll get some photos to update the thread with.

Hi there, how is the sindlinger hurricane progressing?
I have a similar project that I commenced many years ago, sold and am now re-acquiring in order to complete it.
I am interested to keep abreast of the latest news about this project.
I do not visit the UK often, but am interested to view this aircraft if possible as I have seen 3 others so far (4 counting mine) and hope to see another at sun n fun if I make it this year.
Its a great little aircraft. Mine has spade grip ex spitfire and a 1943 P8 compass from Canada, which may have been originally installed in a Hurricane long ago.

And just to follow on, does anyone out there have either plans for a reflector gunsight, or at a push, a reflector gun site I could be loaned so I can make a balsa replica unit ( obviously I don’t want to bash my facial features out completely if something unfortunate was to happen ). Having spent the day making accurate replicas of rear view mirrors and installing various cockpit fittings I’m keen to get the cockpit closer to being finished than it is currently!

That’s better! 🙂
As for the Mini-Messerschmitts. Not yet… 😉

That first link won’t work for me. 🙁
Try this:

It’s a good looking ship….looks like fun. And it must work, there have been no reports of mini-Messerschmitts over Texas.

Great stuff! 🙂
If I’d not already sent my spade grip over to the States for a Sea Fury project, I’d have let you have it for this!
D’OHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

One of our local TV stations posted this on their website…a still photo feature on the Spitfire replica kits being made by the Supermarine company in Texas.
http://www.krem.com/news/slideshows/…=y&c=y&ref=%2FI’m sure it’s been mentioned here before, but here’s a link to the firm founded and run by an Australian who is now in Texas…http://www.supermarineaircraft.com/
That first link won’t work for me. 🙁
