Seen on UKAR thread. It appears that it is the Ex-“Old Crow” that is currently at Shoreham. I’m looking forward to seeing a British schemed P-51 on the display circuit once again!

His next recollection is waking up in a German hospital being offered a cigarette by the guy that shot him down. He’s still with us….
A very good friend of mine had a similar experience when he cartwheeled his P-51 into the Seine whilst attacking a German boat ferrying troops across the river. Woke up in a German run hospital 6 hours later.
I Look forward to seeing an RAF marked Mustang!

About time – It often crosses my mind as I sat watching gun camera footage that there are no RAF Mustangs I/II/III/IV flying in the UK today.
I have been watching quite a bit of RAF gun camera film from WWII and there has been a good amount of Mustang footage. 19 Squadron is quite often involved and were based at Duxford at one time.
And if my history is right the RAF were the first to use the new Mustangs operationally.
So it’ll be nice to see an RAF marked Mustang up in the wide blue yonder…

Great! We need more RAF marked Mustangs! An old friend of my Dads ended his RAF flying days in 1944 in a photo recce RAF Mustang flying down the Rhine. His last memory was after bring bounced by Luftwaffe fighters was the port wingtip of his high back P51 touching the water. His next recollection is waking up in a German hospital being offered a cigarette by the guy that shot him down. He’s still with us….

Nice to hear it will represent RAF use. G-PSID carried a pseudo RAF scheme for a little while – see link to a zombie thread on this Forum for a picture.

Perfect combo; Ex Scandinavian Mustang wearing Major Arne Austeens colors even if it’s a different mark.
