Mossie, Spitfire, and Kittyhawk in formation

Apologies if this has been on here already and I missed it, but the paper back home is carrying a video of the Avspecs Mosquito in formation with a Spitfire over Wellywood harbour – as shot from a Kittyhawk!

They’re warming up for the Wings over Wairarapa airshow. Beautiful stuff!

Straight over my head twice on that wee flight Friday.

And yesterday I had the privilege of a day in the tent at the Airshow. Fantastic stuff, wonderful aircraft and displays and in the presence of a number of vets.

Highlight of the show (aside from the obvious) a very impressive line up of de Havilland product as a mark of honor to the vets and their past comrades.

The Mossie is wonderful! We and WoW show were very lucky and are very thankful to all involved in letting it be here. Great stuff and thank you.

Cheers D

There are now photos from the show at Wings Over NZ. Looks a cracker – hopefully I will see nearly all of it at Omaka at Easter. Note that Les Munro (Dam Buster) and Peter Jackson scored rides in the Mossie. Also, I don’t think it’s been mentioned here that the Mossie will be returning to Ardmore (Auckland) after the show for immediate dis-assembly and shipping to the USA.
