I am currently writing the story of a 69 Squadron pilot.
I have all the operation records of the time, but cannot find much on
the wellington planes that he flew, other than general statistics.
Does anyone have details.. about the flares, cameras, idiosyncrasies of
the plane? The national archives have no listing for training manuals
or things that would fill in the background details.
Any links or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Andyaye, was looking through two manuals yesterday ,one Wellington and one of the bigger but very similar `Warwick`…both copied from the Archive held at RAFM Hendon, very informative!!.It`s good to hear the Wellington Museum hasn`t closed, although ,`I`ve been told`, he got rid of some parts.. Wellington Tail and some FN20 stuff?.

Wellington museum
The Wellington aviation museum is still very much open, however its always worth giving them a call particularly during the winter months before you visit.

The new Haynes Manual on the Wimpey should be a good start:

What a shame if it has. It was a little gem.

A set of repro pilots notes for less than sick squid are in plentiful supply on a certain auction site, that`d be a good start.Failing that,I have a Wellington chap coming down this weekend for a bit of trading,I`ll see what manuals he brings with him….I thought the Wellington Museum had closed too.

I could be very wrong, but I was under the impression that the Wellington Museum had closed, despite the website still being up. Can anyone confirm?

Here might be a good start.

Worth a visit anyway, as is R-Robert at Brooklands (particularly if any of the old guys who work on her are around)
