RAFM Hendon

Visiting to see the Snipe last weekend I was shocked at how the site now looks!
It seems to have lost its dignified air and seems more akin to a theme park !
The Milestones building now has the air of a car showroom with the F-35 model
seeming to be the latest ‘head scratch’ airframe !
The collection in the Bomber Command hall still inspires but somehow its gathered the likes of the Prentice and ‘Black 6’ . The whole collection looks like
it needs a re-jig with the Milestones building maybe becoming a modern RAF
hall allowing better themes to be developed.
Seems sorry to say but the developments like the ‘Curly Wurly’ artwork outside and the mounting of the Qatari Hunter outside have only detracted from
the site – not improved it!
In comparison to Cosford -Hendon as a national collection is now lacklustre.
