A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone who contributes to making this forum a great place to visit where, according to my other half, I waste hours and hours of my time talking to other old farts about dusty old aeroplanes.
She reckons if I had the same besotted look in my eye when I look at her as I do when I look at Old Warden’s Blackburn Monoplane when it is flying then she would actually believe that I love her just as much as I love aircraft!

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Tangmere1940, driving a tiny John Deer.
With a little old digger, so lively and hark,
I knew in a moment it must be St Mark .
More rapid than shovels, with spades they all came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Charlie! now, Andy! now, Spitfires in case!
Lets dig a big hole, this has got to be the right place!
To the top of the pit, to the top of the crate,!
lets look in the hole before its to late!”…………………….. 😀

seeing as this seems to be the official forum Christmas thread I’d like to add season’s greetings from the Victor team at Elvington, and thank everyone for supporting us through what has been another difficult year. Hope to meet more of you in person visiting Lindy this coming year! 🙂
