Napier Dagger & Rapier engines how many exist ?

After reading the thread on surviving Napier Lion engines etc a while back, I thought that it might be worth asking if any forum members can dd to the list of surviving Napier Dagger & Rapier engines.

RAPIER.
1 in the Shuttleworth collection “ex percival Gull ?”.

DAGGER.
1 MK VIII in the RAF museum.
1 MK ? in a museum in Ireland.
1 MK III “remains only” on Red Pike in Cumbria “Hector crash site”.

These are the only ones that I currently know of.

Not Quite, but….

One of the more arcane items in my posession is an oil-cooler for a Napier Rapier off the S.20 Mayo composite. I’m no authority on the Rapier, but I don’t think that they were fitted to much else;- around a dozen engines in six types….so it’s possibly the last piece of S.20 left.

Is the Rapier at Old Warden the only one left…? Any ideas what it came off….?

The Napier engines were all interesting, but all seemed to have been problematic. 🙂
