Mystery object

Another teaser for you all. Does anyone recognise what this might be? It is 241mm long and 101mm diameter at the large end, 83mm diameter at the thin end. I wondered if it might be part of an ADEN gun mechanism, but can’t see anything that fits. It is made of machined steel, and any suggestions would be very welcome.
