I sat down this morning to view a dvd I bought a few weeks ago. ‘The Supermarine Spitfire’ by Delta. “On board cameras allow you to experience the thrill of being in a Spitfire cockpit” and indeed it didn’t disappoint. In cockpit footage from a camera strapped to Kermit Weeks’ cap as he flies one of his Spitfires around Florida.
Only problem was the menu photo. See attached. Oh well, it made me chuckle. :D:D

Maybe the Spitfire has just flown out of view 😀
Seriously though its the irony of the Hurricane that even at airshows its called a Spitfire by some, I see it as the Hurricane did a lot of the work but was and is forever overshadowed by its prettier sister which became an icon.

This sort of error is quite common – my publisher often gets this sort of response when searching image libraries (even one of the worlds largest!).
One of the problems is down to the ignorance of the uploader / photographer / librarian in incorrectly ‘tagging’ the image in the first instance.
However, I ALWAYS place the blame firmly on the proof-reader 😀
