EngineFest 2013

Following our succesful establishment of CockpitsWest at Halfpenny Green, which in 2013 will be on 1st September, we would like to announce the creation of EngineFest to be held at our Easter Wings & Wheels Fly-in at Halfpenny Green, next year on 31st March/1st April. Whether your engine is running or not, or indeed is a project in the early stages of restoration, it will be very welcome. You will have the chance to talk to like-minded enthusiasts, and a free aerojumble will be part of the event. Camping overnight will also be free, at an event which had grown in popularity over the last five years. Alvis Leonides, Napier Lion and Bristol Hercules engines have already been booked in. If you wish to bring your engine, please pm me or contact me on alecbrew@hotmail.co.uk and let me know whether your expect your engine to be running, so that we can allocate space in the compound.

Late breaking news, Enginefest will only be on Easter Monday, with Hercules and Leonides running. Their owners do not want to stay overnight at the Green, though the weather during the day looks good but cool.

Enginefest at the Easter Rotors Wings & Wheels, to give it its full title, at Halfpenny Green will feature the unusual sight of an electric Alvis Leonides running. Alongside John Hoole’s lovely trailer mounted engine will be a Leonides with only one Pot fitted, operating from the power of a 12v battery, showing what is going on inside, while Hooligan makes all the noise alongside.

Me Too!

Count me in, Alec.

It won’t be running but I’ll bring something along. It might be the Twin Wasp again – it might not. I may have the R-2800 sorted by then:eek:.
