North Weald DC-4s sold??

I have heard that one of the North Weald DC-4’s/C-54’s had their engines run today? Apparently a new owner is returning one to taxi condition by using the other for spares. While not the ideal outcome for these unloved aircraft atleast somebody is doing something for them. Any ideas of the new owners??

Try if you can to visit their Facebook page, great videos of first engine runs up now..

Now if I can only get them to paint it up as Air Charters G-ANYB , I’d be a very happy man..

Actually that is a disgrace! so what exactly is taking the Ambassadors place indoors?

Good to see these are now in good hands. For me these are the most significant ‘at risk’ aircraft in the UK as I love propliners. Would be great to see one return to flight and the other undercover in a UK museum.

I’m not sure which museum you think might put one under cover, as it is a type with little or no significance to the UK (a country where a national museum is presently disposing of a Ju-52 and throwing the last surviving Ambassador outside to face the winter weather)

I suggest a pat on the back for the airfields owners, they have been very patient and must be owed a fortune in parking fees. Considering the fate of the Catalina in Ireland, this is good news indeed…
