Hello all,
Herewith a couple of pics of a mystery item the Museum has been offered. A chap was renovating a 200year old house and came across this…he reckons its made of copper but rather than weighing it in has offered it to us! He reckons it may be ammo tracking and I can see why he would say that but I don’t recognise it….
Anyone have any clues… or is it any good to anyone?

Any help gratefully received!
All the best

Thanks chaps – I agree it sort of looks ammo but don’t see how it could be! Many thanks for your help

Yeah, looks domestic to me.

There’s no articulation in that roll which would suit ammo feeds.
Looks very domestic – the cross section is roughly the same as these spring clips for carrying conduit or cables.
In fact the first thing they reminded me of was the clips which keep my Harley’s saddlebags on…

Is it a continuous coil ?

Hello chap
Thanks – yes I know what you mean it does look like a .303 L/E 5 round clippage but the spacing is wrong and so is the size…..
Curious wun innit!

Yes TT, the thing is it looks familiar, I’m now wondering if it is some kind of clip you break off maybe for Field telephone cable,. I am sure some of the cleaver ones on here will be along at some point to put it right.

Looks very much like this type if clip from one angle.
but if made of copper I doubt the strength of the clip would be strong enough and become loose
