Hi,
when we used to drive to Biggin Hill for the airshow in the 70’s my dad would always say to me “there’s a row of trees planted around here, each one for a pilot killed in the battle of britain”.
I was wondering if this is just urban myth or wether there was actually a row of trees planted in rememberance? Perhaps not for the Battle of Britain but maybe for the pilots of Biggin Hill?
Ted.

I was stationed at Biggin 1953 – 1956 and never heard of or was shown a row of trees commemorating Biggin’s B of B casualties. Doesn’t mean trees don’t exist, just that I wasn’t aware of them whilst stationed there.
