I think that there will be too much capacity on the Bournemouth route, no way could two airlines sustain services there in the winter. With two carriers currently flying to Southampton from Jersey there will be too much capacity in the area for flights to actually operate at a profit in my opinion. Aurigny asked for a license to operate from Guernsey to Bournemouth a couple of months ago though withdrew their application a few days later, from this it is obviously just another way to have a quick snap at Le Cocqs.

Stansted has always been popular from here so I don’t think Jersey will be any different. When KLM UK pulled out of the route around 5 years ago, Aurigny did offer to fly the route along with the Southampton route though pulled out of their Stansted application because of low demand for the route with them subsequently also not receiving the Southampton route.

It is good to see Aurigny not just concentrating on Guernsey. Okay I pleased with the expansion they have given the island in terms of routes in the last few years, I doubt other airlines would be so forthcoming to operate Guernsey domestic routes which are pivotal in the finance, tourism and general well being of islanders. However, I believe Jersey has been neglected with little to no expansion in the last years even though it has always been a major focus for Aurigny.
