Pathe film of Queen Mother at Biggin Hill 1949

There are some fantastic film clips on this site. This one shows Spitfires of 600 squadron displaying.

Biggin Hill Air Fair 1965

Great clip of Neil Williams crashing a Stampe, which he describes in his book ‘Airborne’.

The commentator at the time :-

“He’s taken it behind the hangar……..and he’s left it there”

Actually, there’s another film on there “Dam Busters Remembered At Biggin Hill 1967” that shows a Lancaster at Biggin Hill but the rear gun is damaged. Anyone know what this aircraft is and what had happened to it?

Wonderful old Pathe footage – I can spend hours on that website!! Out of interest how many Spits were still serving in the UK in 1949 – and all with RAuxF Squadrons?
