Biggin Hill Air Fair 1965
Great clip of Neil Williams crashing a Stampe, which he describes in his book ‘Airborne’.
The commentator at the time :-
“He’s taken it behind the hangar……..and he’s left it there”

Actually, there’s another film on there “Dam Busters Remembered At Biggin Hill 1967” that shows a Lancaster at Biggin Hill but the rear gun is damaged. Anyone know what this aircraft is and what had happened to it?

Wonderful old Pathe footage – I can spend hours on that website!! Out of interest how many Spits were still serving in the UK in 1949 – and all with RAuxF Squadrons?
