WW2 Aircraft aerial ID please

Hi everyone.
Sorry to post a boring parts I.D thing but here we go.
Can anyone identify the attached. Its a wooden aerial. Measuring 30 inches long from tip to collar. You can see the attached wooden base parts and the decayed ali fittings. Unfortunately I can’t find any stamps or markings. I thought it was a Spitfire but too long and made of wood. A good friend has suggested a P47 or Mustang
I’m a Spitfire man myself so if its not from a Spit its of no use to me other than to use as a trade.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Many thanks

I saw one just like this new, and it was P40!
It should have some black painted serials at the base….or remains of.
Cheers Mike
