Hi! Hope you don’t mind me resurrecting this thread,
I was in Tulsa earlier this week, and on the GA portion of the airfield, we had to pull in our P-51 for a little tlc. Tucked in the back of the borrowed hangar were two sets of hunter wings, complete with gear and wheels. One was marked as XK149 and the other stencilled on the wing join appears to show WV267.

All part of the bigger picture.
Hi David
I recieved the photo’s from a contact in the US about the same time you posted that link. But thanks, it all helps to paint the bigger picture.
But, it isn’t what you can see in these photo’s that grabs my attention, it’s what you can’t!! So my work is not over yet!!!!

Ritch -the pictures on the link I posted clearly show the effects of a cutting torch. Therefore they were taken post the pictures you have added here.

Ritch,
You might like to check that info.
It was seen dismantled (so I guess the same state as in the photos) in an industrial yard in Tulsa in March 2012, having been moved from the airport where the photos were taken.

Andy Marden

I seem to recall it was pictured a few months ago over in the U.S in very poor condition.
