Spitfire Radiator Component – Inspection Stamp Help

Hi All,

Another Spitfire part for the experten.

Number is 30041 262 AI4. The 41 denoting the ‘radiator’ component section.

The inspection stamp baffles me as it says ‘EDA’? Can anyone provide some help with this one?

Thanks

Minor component construction was often farmed out to small companies, the insp stamp often includes company initials and/or particular factory!
As pure speculation ‘EDA’ could possibly be a small company like E D Abbott Ltd whom I believe did construct a/c components during WW2.
As I said…complete speculation on my part but the component shown is just a minor airframe part not necessarily manufactured by the radiator manufacturing company.

Once again, wow! Quick. You really are ontop of your game.

Question. How are you able to locate the section so quickly. Do you use blueprints or parts catalogs or something else to help locate the item on the airframe?

Thanks for your help.

..yes as indicated by the arrow!

Not sure about the inspection stamp, looks to be from a sub-contractor rather than Supermarine.
