Several publications from the 1970s incuding the Aircam Spitfire MkI to MkXVI book include photographs credited to Frank F Smith. Amongst them are the only photos that we know of Spitfire Vbs of 457 and 452 (Australian) Squadrons when based at RAF Andreas in the Isle of Man.
I would very much like to get hold of good examples of these photos for display in the museum but I have never been able to track down Mr Smith. Can anyone help?

Not much help, but Frank Smith is an Australian and his family home was the Melbourne suburb of Box Hill. He visited me in Sydney in the 1960s. He was very active in photo collecting and dug up some really good and original stuff of the kind you mention.
I haven’t heard from or of him in years and assumed that he’d found other interests.
