I am sharing these photos from the Goodwood Revival, G-VETA previously XL600 and G-FFOX previously WV318 did some excellent close formation flying, seriously outdid the 4 wheeled competition on the ground. With Chris Heames and Andy Hills at the controls it was breathtaking stuff. Vintage Flyers at Kemble have done a great job preparing them both, enjoy the photos.

Great shots of the Hunters in formation and good news on the Canberra.

The sound is primarily generated from the gun ports on some of the variants, not the engine – though the 200 makes it’s own distinct noise.
There is some debate as to whether the best ‘note’ is down to the blast deflector design, though I have heard the sound from Miss D (with), and G-VETA, and some single seaters (without).

Jet Heritage modified its gun ports when it rebuild her… some say she sounded better than XE601……… :diablo: :dev2:
Really??? I was always told that only the 200 Avon powered Hunters were capable of the blue note???

Has it got the 200 fitted then?

I saw these two leave Kemble when I was doing my solo land away. Managed to catch them do a little display there too!

G-VETA is one of the few T birds that can make a blue note.

Never known the T-bird could produce the blue note :diablo:
Fair point, but if it wasn’t blue it was certainly distinctive and not heard much around these parts

I have been promised some photos of the Canberra work in progress from Vintage Flyers, I hope to receive them later today and I will post them as soon as I receive them.

One flew over our house on approach to Goodwood, classic blue note sound 🙂 Then later we were circled several times by the P51 – P47 – P51 formation, excellent free show

Totally agree. Great to see these Hunters flying, and will be just as great to see and hear a Canberra in UK skies once again.

Hey, fantastic! Been a few years since there was a Canberra on the circuit!

Canberra
Yes they were on the programme, however I have checked and it is almost finished but waiting for some final approvals. Should be doing ground runs in the next two weeks and flying within 4 to 6 weeks. I have asked for updates and will post them as and when I receive them.

Yes, they were great. The pre-show publicity had them down as flying escort to the Canberra PR.9 (XH134?) owned by Midair, one of the Revival’s sponsors. Since I’d read nothing about this machine flying in the run-up to the weekend, I assumed it wouldn’t appear, and it didn’t. Anybody have the latest on it?

Nice first post jetflyer.
They look very good and mean looking together.
Thanks for sharing.
