Does anyone know where i might be able to find a He177 tail wheel tyre to fit the A-5 version heinkel as i think there was two sizes used. A recent excavation unearthed a complete tail leg together with both DB610’s, undercarrage legs and cockpit parts and if due to feature in Britain at war soon.
Thanks
Gareth

I once owned a He 177 main u/c leg which had been trawled up near Hastings. It was monstrous and about the size of a telegraph pole…so I can well imagine the tail leg was pretty big, too!
Any photos?
And any photographs/details of the significant Spitfire IX wreckage recovered in France the other week?

Congratulations on finding the He177 Gareth.
If there are no suggestions from anyone else – the next place to look would be at the Speyer Aeroboot in late October.
I am planning to attend and could have a look for you if you are not able to go.
Alternatively keep watching ebay.de under the militaria or flugzeugteile sections.
