Phil Burns of Blenheim, New Zealand, has decided to sell his cockpit display which is a Vampire T55 (Early) ex-RNZAF Serial NZ5702
It is the oldest two-seat Vampire in the world, pre ejection seats and having the early style canopy. It is fairly fully equipped and can be powered up. One radio works, the inverter runs, etc.

I agree. That canopy – windscreen assembly really gives it a character all of its own. Must of been a complete b@stard to bail out of though!
Hope it finds a good home too.

Early 2 seat Vampires
I love the look of these early 2 seat vampires: NF10 and T11’s.
They really carry on the family “look” of the Mosquito into the jet age.

And this is what Phil started with…

It’s very nice, or was a few years ago at any rate.

Any pix?

That’s a shame. I know Phil has put a massive amount of work into that Vampire over many, many years and resurrected it from an absolute wreck.
I hope it finds a good home and that the sale wasn’t prompted by anything serious.
