I saw – well to be truthful heard and then saw- a Griffon engined spitfire flying west over the Malvern hills late this morning. I have looked on the BBMF site and none of the displays booked for today would seem to fit a transit at that time. Is RR’s mk XIX back in service?

There was a time when I relished the occasional sighting of a Spitfire. Today I was visiting relatives in Lancing and had a fairly good not too distant view of the Shoreham display. I think I saw at least five Spits. It gets a bit much. However, I did enjoy the Bf109/Buchon being chased for several minutes by a Hurricane.
