Hi all,
Whilst out detrecting on a regular site of mine (not avaiation related) I decided to walk back to the car via the area where a BoB Spitfire crashed. You cannot use a detector in the area as there is bits everywhere but lying in full view in the stubble was this instrument.
The site was dug in the 70’s hence the large amount of originally deeper buried items that are now on the surface.
Be really grateful if anyone could ID it? There are no visibly markings on the face (did it have a separate face that has been lost) but you can see where the needle was pointing. There is a small hook that I presume was to hold the wiring in place and as can be seen from the rear shots the wiring is more small hose like, so I presume some pressure measurement instrument?
I know its a long shot but any help gratefully received
Many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve
Difficult to make out from the pics but it looks like a crushed capillary gauge – either oil or radiator temp. I’ve been meaning to ring you now it’s past harvest time 🙂
