hi guys,
in the advanced stages of profiling the JP, for the life of me i can’t find a image of the stenciling just under the middle of the engine bay door, port side, i have the hydraulic accumulator one and the fire panel also the first aid inside, so if there are anymore you know of please let me know.
thank you in advance.
by the way if anyone has a particular plane they would like doing (jet provost) just give me a shout, these are for free, thats right, NO CHARGE:D

hi guys,
very close now, just need to know if 1FTS Linton Gin carried the badge of 1FTS or RAF Linton on the nose, none of the images i have are clear enought to make it out.

By: sagindragin - 30th August 2012 at 18:23
hi guys,
i am getting close to it being finished, so all those who want a profile of the T3 OR T4 send your port side images and let me know if you want how they look now or when in service, also give me a quick run down of the writing you want to go with it, any badges or emblem to be included with posible close up of them,
you have my email addy.
next up will be the T5
By: sagindragin - 30th August 2012 at 01:40

Thanks for the answers about the blue, any confirmed info would be appreciated, also does anyone know what blue it is (ie BS number, shade)? It looks to be lighter than the roundel blue.
edit, on second look it appears exactly like roundel ble, so will go with that!

While I don’t have the answer (to post #7), I’m not totally convinced by the proffered answer (post #13). As I recall, towards the end all the 6 FTS Finningley Jet Provost T.5Bs and for a period all the 4 FTS Hawk T.1s had the attractive blue top applied to the red/white training scheme. Neither unit had aerobatic teams, although performed flypasts at base Battle of Britain/At Homes displays. While the JP T5s were retired from service, the Valley Hawks later became air defence pale grey and more recently the current gloss black overall. Don’t recall the blue top on other red/white training scheme types though eg Chipmunk, Bulldog, Tucano, Varsity, Jetstream or Dominie. Although having typed that, think the Tucano fleet may well have gained blue tops, not certain without access to my photo collection.

BTW i believe the blue spine on the JP5 was put on the display JPs as a cheaper display scheme

that answered a lot of questions.
By: sagindragin - 21st August 2012 at 15:36
opp’s,
definitely a typo or old age:D
By: pagen01 - 21st August 2012 at 08:48
pagen,
i did not plan on doing the T5 but if you insist i just might:D the stencil detail for the T5 is different to the 3/4 but saying that the 3/4 varied all over the place.
Your title says T3/5, guessing that is a typo then?:o
Would be very grateful for one of XW325 though:)
On a related subject, does anyone know why some JPs got the blue top, were they COs’ aircraft?
