Brought to our local aviation museum the other Sunday by a visitor who lives in Sloley, near the former RAF Coltishall Norfolk. They found the panel in the bottom of their garden hedge some years back.
Part of an Coltishall based aircraft that may have crashed in or near Sloley or
perhaps just dropped off something landing at Coltishall?
Over to you guys for your thoughts.

If its from a B-24, more likely to come from one of the many Norfolk based USAAF Bomb Groups. I think Kennedy’s aircraft exploded over Suffolk, around 40 miles from where this part was found.
Of course, the piece ‘found in a hedge’ may have been brought miles from where it was found.

Your wreckage looks pretty heavy duty with all those rivets!
Is you local museum the City of Norwich Aviaiton Museum? Haven’t been able to visit for a couple of years as I don’t travel around as once did. How is your museum getting on? I did see that you have gained another aircraft recently, not many aircraft are being added to museum collections recently, so well done for that.
