I’d like to read up on metalworking techniques which would have been used during WWII aircraft production – forming, rivetting, casting, wheeling etc. I have experience of working with steel restoring car bodywork, but would like to improve my knowledge of aluminium techniques.
During the war I believe manuals were written to train factory workers in all these skills and I’m working on the basis I can recreate 40’s tool technology in my shed on a budget. Question is, which book / manual should I seek out?
