I saw this reminder on the WIX Forum…
The first flight of the F-15 was 40 years ago today: July 27, 1972.
Still in production with more than 1800 made and an aerial victory score of 104 to 0.
I thought I’d mention it to irritate the F-15 haters on the Modern Military Forum. 🙂
And yes, I know it’s not quite historic, but one is at Duxford. 🙂

The F-15, what an aircraft. Looks perfect to my eye, surpassed in looks only by the Flanker (although beauty is in the eye of the beholder!), and is one of my favourite airshow performers when I’m fortunate enough to see it in the air.
