It’s nice to see a Lanc on the telly, it’s just a shame it’s for such a **** reason 😀 Just been on ITV2.
Hopefully they received a nice contribution towards getting her airworthy.

As Dobbins said. I would be interested to see the add though.

If someone comes along waving a wad of cash it is extremely hard for any such organisation to say no. I did some voluntary work for a charity once and heard that they had received a generous donation from a rather dubious source. No, it may not be ideal scenario but will no doubt be soon forgotten. I haven’t seen the ad so I can’t comment for that.

Regardless of what it was done for, if the funds from it help keep it live it’s a win win situation.
I agree 😉

Before we get upset, has anyone asked the “Just Jane” people about the ad?
There is a slight cghance they didn’t know the end use of it…they could have been contacted by an ad agency for a shoot.
And nx611_1945 is certainly correct…there are many thousands of people in the country that would not see a beer advert in a positive light. Alcohol has affected (or ruined) more lives than the pay-day loan business.

We didn’t see it as agreeing with or supporting loans, afterall it is each individuals right to decide whether to take out a loan or not. Its a bit like the Carling advert, if you stand back and think about it should people not be thinking that the Lancaster should not be associated with a poisenous addictive substance? Either way at least more people are seeing, thinking about and talking about Bomber Command, I don’t think the fact a Lancaster is on the advert will make people take out the loan!!

I guess bad publicity is better than no publicity ,personally i would rather she was associated with something more morally justified, just my tuppence worth.
Got to agree…personally I’m very disappointed to hear of this association. 🙁

Yes its great to see her on TV, sadly we didnt get to arrange the content and subject of the advert.
Our hope is that it has raised the profile of a Lancaster and therefore Bomber Command. If that then means Bomber Command is thought of and remembered by thousands more people then we will be happy.
You should get ITV to do a re-run of the old ‘Carling Black Label’ advert 😀

Our hope is that it has raised the profile of a Lancaster…
It prompted 2 of my friends to ask me if it was real. Having told them about Just Jane, we now have planned a visit to see a taxi run.

Shame you hadn’t got the elsan yet, it could have been incorporated in the ad…. Something along the lines of take out a payday loan and end up in the sh*tter.
:p
