It will be interesting to see which they choose.

There are dozens of remote airfields that could host the races, but infrastructure and being a place where people actually want to go are different matters.

I have driven across Wyoming a few times, and Casper really is in the middle of nowhere…it’s not even on an Interstate Highway ,(dual carriage motorway) which makes it more difficult to reach. Probably not a lot of air service, and I’ll wager its hotels and restaurants aren’t up to Reno levels either. 🙂

I actually prefer towns like that as opposed to silly “glamor”, I’m not the sort of guy who would splurge for a fancy hotel suite, gambling and rented Bentley, but I’m sure many fans would want to do more at night than watch TV or eat at the local Pizza Ranch (quod vide).

Reno was great because non race fans could amuse themselves while other family members/friends were at the airport.

And don’t discount the ability of a segment of the local population or local/state government to scuttle any deal.

Also, Races at Westover would certainly benefit the historic airfield and the airfield museum there.

I wish them the best.
