First Flight of the Airdrome Aeroplanes Sopwith Tabloid Replica

On June 23, our Airdrome Tabloid took to the air for the first time. It flys great!

This is the prototype for an Airdrome kit and can be built as any of the Tabloid/Schneider/Baby variants. It is a two seat side by side replica of one of the earliest Sopwith aircraft.

It weighs (empty) 791 pounds and has a wingspan of 26 feet. It is powered with a 115HP 2332cc Valley Engineering, LLC VW with a 2.47:1 Reduction drive. The propeller is 90×66 made by Culver.

Our plane is painted to represent a SS3 Tabloid flown by the Royal Naval Air Service in 1915.

Thanks!

The plane is currently in Missouri at the Airdrome Aeroplanes shop, and will be based in Northern Virginia.

Great! Put it on floats and fly out of Monaco harbour

Floats and a trip to Monaco would be excellent!
